Blurt It Out!!

Grateful

Posted on: October 17, 2008

Yesterday while having a break after training, I sat down with a colleague and we talked what to do after training since it finished early than scheduled. She said she might go home early, to check on her mother.

Apparently her mother is suffering with cancer, which started from breast but now has been spread to lung, kidney, almost all over her body. Her mother is 52 years old. She’s 25. She’s the eldest in the family.

Next week her mother going to take chemo but the doctor had told them in advance that the chances are slim. She said “At least we got time to be mentally prepared”.

I just sat there, nodding, asking questions like “how long it has been” etc, we ended up reminding each other on the importance of full body check up (which I always ignored). But deep in my mind, I was thinking, how she cope with all these. How she remain calm and smiling when things are not actually right. How she have to be ‘mother’ to her younger siblings.

Just when I thought I’ve got the worst in life at the moment, Allah showed there’s more suffering outside.

Whatever life throws, it won’t bounce back, we have to take it. (have to keep remind myself this)
